Brooke Pollard, Partner

Brooke Pollard joined TLD Law as a law clerk in May 2006. Ms. Pollard is a partner at our Irvine office. Brooke’s practice focuses mainly on mergers and acquisitions of closely held businesses, real estate law, and entity use in estate planning.

Ms. Pollard handles all aspects of stock and asset purchases, including letters of intent, due diligence, purchase agreement preparation and review, closings, and earn-out strategies. She has a particular emphasis on counseling and implementing business transition and succession strategies between family members. She has formed over 300 corporations, limited liability companies (LLCs), limited partnerships (LPs), general partnerships, and limited liability partnerships (LLPs) for licensed professionals. Ms. Pollard’s office maintains corporate records for over 500 closely held businesses on an annual basis. Her corporate law experience ranges widely and includes these areas of business law among others:

  • Mergers & acquisitions
  • General corporate transactional
  • Real estate purchase & leasing

Ms. Pollard handles every day matters for business owners including lease reviews, distribution agreements, trademark issues, employment agreements, tax-saving strategies, corporate compliance, and asset protection.

Her primary focus for her business clients is on “preventive law practice,” which means preventing problems down the road and reviewing all potential areas of legal concern prior to the business having problems.

Ms. Pollard has exceptional knowledge in the area of property taxes, property tax appeals, and claim-for-reassessment exclusions during the transfer of real property into and out of legal entities. She processes and reviews commercial lease and purchasing agreements, and works with publicly traded companies needing local representations for lease and purchase negotiations for developed and undeveloped properties.

Ms. Pollard graduated from Loyola Law School in May 2007. While at Loyola Law School, Brooke clerked for the Hon. Richard Aronson, California Court of Appeals, Fourth Appellate District, Division Three, and worked for an estate planning firm in Costa Mesa. Before entering law school, Ms. Pollard was a Financial Services Officer at a large local bank specializing in small and growing businesses.

Ms. Pollard received her Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of California at Los Angeles. While at UCLA, Brooke actively participated in the school’s athletic program and was the first female manager of the men’s UCLA basketball program.

Brooke’s Thoughts on Diversity and Inclusion

“I appreciate the diversity and inclusion shown by TLD Law. In Southern California at this juncture, the time has come for flexibility and differing viewpoints to take the stage. I like working with people that don’t agree with me all the time. For example, Mark Doyle, our most senior partner, and I work together regularly. I find that his experience leads to a different perspective on negotiation than what I might have pursued. Equally, my younger coworkers will bring new ideas about how to move a transaction forward quickly using new technology or innovation. Diversity and inclusion lead to a more efficient, steady workforce where everyone’s worth is valued.”
