Lauren M. Doyle, a Partner at TLD Law, is a second-generation business and estate planning attorney whose practice is focused on estate and tax planning, trust administration, business planning, and property taxes. Lauren helps families and business owners navigate legal challenges that arise during each season of life. Whether working with families to help select guardians for their minor children, to analyzing the tax and legal impacts of generational wealth transfers, Lauren’s compassionate and comprehensive approach leaves no stone unturned.
Estate Planning
As a mom of two young boys, Lauren is passionate about helping families, especially when it comes to planning for emergencies. The peace of mind of a well-planned estate is invaluable. Lauren’s legacy in estate planning, and detailed process helps to flesh out family dynamics and concerns so that her clients can make the best decision for their unique family.
Trust Administration
When the creators of a trust pass away or become incapacitated, Lauren helps the successor trustees and agents step in to administer the trust. Managing finances and medical care for aging parents is one of the most challenging seasons of life. Lauren’s patience and comprehensive planning help navigate this tricky area in a way that brings the most clarity and peace to her clients. Lauren also has in-depth knowledge and proven strategies on how best to transfer large assets, such as real estate or businesses down from one generation to the next in the most pragmatic and tax-efficient manner. Lauren has an acute knowledge of the California property tax system, Prop. 13, Prop. 19, and the Parent-Child Exclusion. She has filed and won 100s of property tax reassessment appeals against the Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego, and San Bernardino County Assessor’s Office.
Business Planning
Ms. Doyle serves as a legal advisor to closely held businesses and non-profits throughout Southern California. She has formed and advised 100s of LLC S-Corps, C-Corps, Partnerships, Professional Corporations, and Non-Profits. She works alongside the founders to put in place protective agreements, such as Buy-Sell, Operating, and Shareholder Agreements, which anticipate the myriad of complications that can arise when owning and operating a business.
Ms. Doyle was selected by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star Honoree in 2021, 2022 & 2023, which is awarded to only 2.5% of attorneys in California. Lauren is an active member of the Irvine Chamber of Commerce where she served on the Women of Influence committee from 2014 -2020 and was selected as a 40 Under 40 Business Leader in Orange County in 2020. Lauren was also nominated by the Orange County Business Journal for the Women in Business Award in 2020 & 2022. She is an active member of the Orange County Bar Association, including serving as the chair of the Business and Corporate Law section in 2022. She also enjoys being a volunteer for the Alzheimer’s Association and MOMS Orange County.
Before joining TLD Law, Ms. Doyle earned her B.A. from New York University in 2008, where she majored in Journalism and Psychology. She graduated as Salutatorian, 2nd in her class, and summa cum laude from Western State University, College of Law in 2013, where she also served on the editorial board of the Law Review and competed on the Honors Moot Court Team. Lauren grew up in Newport Beach and graduated from Mater Dei High School in 2004. As a native Southern Californian, Lauren loves spending time with her family at the beach, at her family home in La Quinta, and at Disneyland.
