Scott Harlan was sworn in to the California Bar in 2016. He joined TLD Law as an associate in 2021 after several years of experience litigating cases throughout California. Mr. Harlan has a wide range of litigation experience, with a practice devoted to civil litigation in the areas of general liability, business litigation, insurance, employment, trust and estates, real estate, construction, consumer warranty and products liability.
Prior to joining TLD Law, Mr. Harlan worked as an attorney for two insurance defense law firms in Irvine, California, where he represented numerous Fortune 100/500 and other large corporations and their clients. Throughout law school, Mr. Harlan worked at a private criminal defense law office in Laguna Hills, California as a Certified Law Clerk. Before attending law school, Mr. Harlan gained valuable experience as a Congressional Law Clerk for Congressman Wally Herger, a 13-term member of the U.S. House of Representatives, in his District 2, Chico, California office.
Mr. Harlan obtained is Juris Doctorate degree from Western State College of Law in Orange County, California. During law school, Mr. Harlan was a member of his law school’s negotiations team, and participated in the American Bar Associations Negotiations Competition. He was also an active member of the Criminal Law Association and Asian Pacific American Law Student Association.
Mr. Harlan graduated from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana with a Bachelors of Science in Political Science and a minor in Civic Leadership. Mr. Harlan was a member of the NCAA Division-I baseball team during his time as an Indiana State Sycamore.
Mr. Harlan is admitted to practice law in all California jurisdictions, and in the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
