Matt Kinley has been a partner with the firm since 1989 and served as Managing Partner from 2006 to 2011.

Healthcare. Matt earned a Master of Laws in Health Care from the highly respected Loyola Chicago Law School’s Beazley Institute for Health Law and Policy  which provides him with a strong platform from which to represent healthcare clients, including the Orange County Medical Association and Riverside County Medical Association. He represents healthcare clients in several different aspects of healthcare law, including federal and state laws and regulations, licensing, medical board representation, Medicare and Medicaid laws and audit representation, managed care contracting and disputes, fraud and abuse issues, unique healthcare employment issues, HIPAA compliance, creations and mergers, and acquisition of healthcare practices.  Matt is an active member of the healthcare law community, serving as Chair-Elect of the Orange County Bar Association Health Care Law Section. He is also active in the American Health Lawyers Association, the California Society for Healthcare Attorneys, the Healthcare section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Matt is also the founder of the California Healthcare Law blog.

Litigation and Business Counseling. With over two decades of litigation experience in state and federal courts, arbitrations and alternative dispute resolutions on behalf of individuals and entrepreneurial businesses, Matt has developed a successful track record in real estate, business and corporate disputes.

Personal Injury.  Matt represents both injured individuals and their families. He has been particularly successful in wrongful death matters, as well as catastrophic injury cases, including paralysis, and brain and nerve injury. Matt is extremely effective before a jury, and has a unique ability to invoke sincere empathy from jurors to achieve justice on behalf of victims and their families. Matt’s decades of experience, innumerable trials, talent, and commanding presence in the courtroom have well-served TLD clients in obtaining extraordinary results.
